Mitch was kind enough to let me repair our headgasket in his shed. He is also an excellent source of colorful history of both Tasmania and Australia. He and Lynn really should think about opening a Backpacker's Hostel for Working in Tasmania. They would both be perfect with their hospitality and knowledge.

Our most gracious hostess in Tasmania, Lynn was able to put up with us for almost 2 weeks!

a Big Spider
From: Jason @ 203.208.80.248 (Sun 4 Jul 22:07:04 2004)
This thing (about 3.5 inches across) was hitching a ride on the camper. We saw it when we parked and it climbed out from the wheel-well and lost its grip on the paint, and fell to the parking lot where this photo was taken... its life lasted a few more minutes, until it scurried out into the path of an oncoming car and became one with the pavement...

Hot Air Balloon World Cup in Mildura
From: Jason @ 203.208.80.248 (Sun 4 Jul 22:10:20 2004)
this photo does nothing to show the vastness of the amount of balloons in the sky, I think there were more than 100 competitors. Everyday for 2 weeks we would see balloons in the sky from dawn until dusk..
